A.    READING

1.     Descriptive Text

Function : To describe and reveal a particular person, place or thing

Example :

            Hatsune miku  is a humanoid persona voiced by a singing synthesizer application developed by Crypton Future Media. Her voice is sampled from Japanese voice actress Saki Fujita. Hatsune Miku has performed at her concerts onstage as an animated projection. She have pigtail hair and great costume.

2.      Recount Text

Function : A text that telling the reader about one story, action or activity. It’s goal is to entertaining or informing the reader.

Example :

            Last night i had a bad nightmare. In my dream there was a girl who have pretty hair. I try to call her, then she turn around. She have a pretty hair but she have a scary face. I want to scream because she want to chase me. But i woke up from my nightmare and went to my parent’s room then slept again.

3.      Narrative Text

Function : Storytelling

Example :

            Once upon a time there was a pretty girl who live in a big house. Her name is Marcell.  She live with her friend, Marcell call her Juli.  They trust each other. They’re like a family.

            One day, Marcell want to go to her mother’s house. And she want Juli to keep her diamond ring until she came back.

            After Marcell come back from her mother’s house. And already arrive in her big house. She can’t find Juli.

            ‘’I think Juli will come back soon’’

            So she wait until two weeks later. But Juli is not coming back.  The ring is not Precious but because of that tragedy she don’t want to trust anyone to keep her things.

Function : To tell readers something that will happen later

Function : To asking someone for something

C.     WRITING

1.     Present Tense

Function : To tell the Habit

Adverb of times : Everyday, usually, Always, often

Formula : I, YOU, WE, THEY = verb-1

He, she, it = Verb-1 (s/es)

Tobe : am, is, are

Example : - I always love him

-         Do you usually jump like that?

-         Does it’s hurt?

2.     Present Continuous

Function : Happening now

Adverb of times : NOW, AT THE MOMENT

Formula : Subject + is, am , are + verb-ing + Object

Example : ‘’Am i look angry right now?’’

            ‘’ Now is my moment ‘’

            ‘’I want candy’’

3.     Past Tense

Function : happen in the past

Adverb : Yesterday

Formula : Subject + Verb-2

Example : ‘’Yesterday i was there ‘’

            ‘’Last night i was slept there’’

            ‘’Last week i was cut the paper’’

4.     Past Continuous

Function : Some action happen in the past

Adverb : -

Formula : Subject + was, were + verb-ing +  Objek when/while  S + verb 2

Example : ‘’ I was cooking when he called ‘’

            ‘’ I was listening to the music, when the alarm rang ‘’

            ‘’ I was reading while she was doing homework ‘’

5.     Future tense

Function : Some planned action will happen in the future.

Adverb : Tomorrow, etc

Formula : S + Will + verb-1

Example : ‘’ I will cook for you tomorrow’’

            ‘’ Next year i will go to Bali!’’

            ‘’For my next birthday, there will be new house for me and my family’’
